The academy restarted under a new name after Corona forced break.
The peer training of our school awareness project has started again. Since this year, we have also been organising these training seminars under the name "FAQ YOU Academy", thus standardising our communication towards our target groups. The aim of this decision is to create a consistent brand identity for the hybrid learning offer.
This offer includes physical interventions, key teacher resources and a comprehensive e-learning offer.
At the FAQ YOU Academy, 8th and 9th grade students will be trained as so-called peers.
Over the course of a weekend, they will be given the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct their own educational workshops on the topic of "healthy sexuality". The workshops follow the peer-to-peer concept and focus on the barrier-free and relaxed exchange of young people at eye level.
The FAQ YOU Academy is available free of charge to all partner schools of the project and was carried out with the support of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Dermatology and Allergology of the LMU Munich.
"In the wake of the Corona pandemic, it was not possible to hold physical educational events for a long time. I am all the more pleased that we were able to welcome around 40 motivated students to Munich this weekend. Soon they will be educating their fellow pupils as important ambassadors in the context of 3-hour workshops on important questions about sexuality, sexual health and sexually transmitted diseases and making an important contribution in the context of school education," says Dr. Stefan Zippel (Education & Training Director) happily.
"The positive feedback from the participants is really motivating. Especially the open discussion rounds were a lot of fun. It's great to do something valuable and pass on your knowledge," says Sarah Klauke, one of the trainers on site after the event.
The school education is funded by the Federal Ministry of Health based on a resolution of the German Bundestag. The project organiser is Jugend gegen AIDS e. V., Erik-Blumenfeld-Platz 27, 22587 Hamburg.
